In an effort to answer the questions that matter most to you, the staff at Cypress Lakes Owners Association in Lake Park, Georgia, has compiled this list. Please review these questions and answers, and let us know if there are any additional questions you may have.
Do We Have a Leash Law in Cypress Lakes Subdivision?
Yes, we do. The leash law that covers Cypress Lakes is actually a county ordinance.
What Do I Do If My Neighbor's Pet Is Running Loose and Causing Me Grief?
First of all, residents are asked to control their pets! If this is not happening, residents have the right to call the Lowndes County Animal Control Office.
Who Pays for Streetlights, and What Do I Do If the Streetlight Is out in front of My House?
The cost of operating and maintaining our streetlights comes from revenue collected from your property taxes. We are in a special lighting district, so if a light is malfunctioning, residents are urged to call Colquitt EMC and report the problem.
What Do I Need to Do before I Cut Trees on My Property?
The trees in Cypress Lakes Subdivision are protected by the Protective Covenants that are legally binding for each phase. Although there are some differences between the different phases, in most cases, property owners must receive permission from Panizzi Development Corporation prior to cutting trees. Stiff penalties are possible for anyone who violates this covenant.
Can I Erect a Storage Building or Construct an Outbuilding on My Property?
No, you may not. Storage buildings and other outbuildings are specifically prohibited by the covenants for all phases of the subdivision.
How Do I Have My Plans for Architectural Changes or Improvements Approved?
As detailed in the covenants for each phase, all architectural changes and improvements must be approved by the architectural control committee. At present, this committee is an entity of Panizzi Development Corporation, so please contact Giovanni Panizzi to begin this process.
Can I Burn Trash and Yard Debris in the Neighborhood?
Burning of trash and debris in the neighborhood is strongly discouraged due to the danger of spreading wildfire and the noxious fumes created. These fumes can be an annoyance to your neighbors who are trying to enjoy fresh air or they can be downright dangerous! Some residents have respiratory or other problems that are aggravated by smoke.
Please be courteous and consider contracting with a waste disposal company to discard trash. In the event that you do chose to burn, please check with your neighbors first and remember to do so according to the strict guidelines set forth by the Lowndes County Board of Commissions. A permit is required!
